The goal is to increase environmental awareness and sensitivity regarding the protection of Galapagos pinnipeds among children and young people in Galapagos. We believe this can have a multiplier effect on the community as they share their experiences with family and friends. This will promote positive change in society toward a culture more aware of its environment. Furthermore, it is hoped that by participating in training workshops and having the opportunity to participate in official censuses, those involved will increase their interest in the study of these species and be motivated to pursue scientific, academic, and research activities in the future.
